Designer's Showcase

My name is Mortira, and I am a life-long lover of beads. I have been working with beads in some way or another for most of my life, and I continue to look for new ways to create beautiful, quality jewelry, that is as kind to the environment as possible.

These beautiful scarab cabochons have been transformed into functional pendants using Japanese seed beads and the peyote stitch technique.
Each scarab has been paired with complementary seed beads, which make up the jacket and bail for the pendants.
The bails were also created with peyote stitch, and have smooth edges for easy stringing. The sides have been reinforced with a coat of nylon lacquer for extra durability.
